- The first thing you need to do is get a set of card templates. I got my card templates from http://community.wizards.com/go/thread/view/75862/22418981/Looking_For_Custom_Card_Templates. Just choose the ones that look like mine, or use your own.
- Next copy and paste them into PowerPoint, and resize them until they are the same size as real SWM cards. This step does take some experimenting.
- This next step is probably the most boring. You have to make text boxes all over the template. For the name at the top I use size 9 font. Size 8 for the stats and titles (Special Abilities, Force Powers, Commander Effect). Use size 6 for the special abilities, force powers, and commander effects. Size 6 and Italic for the flavor text. Bold everything except the definitions of the special abilities and force powers, the flavor text, and the commander effects. Size ten for the cost. The font I use is Arial Narrow.
- Enter the stats and anything else you want on the card.
- Find a picture, save it, use a photo editing software to make it black and white, and finally move it into PowerPoint and resize.
- Another optional step is to add a recommended figure. Just make a text box at the bottom right-hand corner at Arial Narrow size 4, bold. Enter it like this: Usable with Nikto Solider (CS #55). So "Usable with" and the name and set number in parentheses.
- To make more of these just select the whole card, textboxes and all and, and copy and paste another one. Then you can just change the template to a different faction, if needed, and enter new stats and stuff in your already perfectly sized text boxes.
Hope you enjoyed this tutorial. If you have any questions just comment. I would also enjoy seeing any of your cards you made, using this template, or not.
